DUBUQUE, Iowa — On May 26, 2025, Dubuque’s Memorial Day Parade brought the community together to honor fallen service members. Organized by local veterans’ groups, the parade began at noon at Q Casino + Resort’s parking lot on Chaplain Schmitt Island. The route proceeded east on Greyhound Park Drive, along Admiral Sheehy Drive, under the bridge overpass, and around McAleece Park and Recreation Complex, concluding at Veterans Memorial Plaza.

A solemn ceremony followed at the plaza, featuring tributes to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The event included a flag-raising, wreath placement, and the playing of taps, with community members and veterans reflecting on the meaning of Memorial Day. “It’s a day to remember those who gave everything for our freedom,” said a local veteran in attendance.

The parade and ceremony underscored Dubuque’s commitment to honoring its heroes, drawing residents together in a shared moment of gratitude and remembrance.
