On May 20, 2025, at around 5:00 p.m., the Dubuque police initiated an effort to apprehend Leonardo M. Campbell is forty years old. He was found at 2115 Stafford Street, leading to a prolonged standoff that lasted several hours.

The negotiators tried to come to a compromise, but Campbell stubbornly refused to leave, prompting the Dubuque police tactical team to use tear gas. Campbell was arrested at 10:07 p.M. On charges including domestic abuse assault with injury, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with official acts, five counts of failure to appear, and four counts of pretrial supervision violation..

Campbell is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Being caught does not imply guilt, as everyone is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
