ELIZABETH, Ill. — On May 18, 2025, at 7:53 A.M., a two-vehicle accident occurred on US Route 20 W., a tenth of a mile east of FDR Ct., in Elizabeth, IL. The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting the crash.

Milena J. Husmann, 45, of Monticello, IA, driving eastbound with passenger Ryan M. Husmann, 47, crossed the center line and sideswiped a westbound vehicle driven by William D. Villont, 80, of Belvidere, IL. Both vehicles stopped on the roadway. Milena was transported to Midwest Medical Center by Elizabeth EMS for non-life-threatening injuries.

Milena was cited for improper lane usage and driving under the influence of alcohol. The Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. The accident remains under investigation.
