DUBUQUE, Iowa – The City of Dubuque and the Dubuque Bike Coop are teaming up to host Bike Week from May 12-18, featuring thirteen events to promote cycling as transportation and recreation.

Highlights include a bike-in picnic at Bee Branch Amphitheatre on May 16, with remarks from Mayor Brad Cavanagh. “Increased bike riding aligns with our goals to make Dubuque a vibrant, connected, and bike-friendly community,” Cavanagh said, noting recent additions of downtown bike lanes.

The Jule bus service will offer free “Rack and Ride” trips for cyclists using bus bike racks during the week. Routes and schedules are available at MyRide.cityofdubuque.org.

The Dubuque Bike Coop, co-sponsor of Bike Week, was founded in 2012 to promote healthy living and sustainability through cycling. Bike Week is part of National Bike Month, supported by the League of American Bicyclists (BikeLeague.org).
