According to Grant County authorities, the driver was identified as 19-year-old Preacher Paul Tribble, of Madison who died in the fatal crash.

Trible was driving a  2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling northbound on Hwy 61. According to the investigation, while negotiating a right-hand curve on a downhill section of the roadway, he lost control of the vehicle. As the Trailblazer emerged from the curve, it began to slide before ultimately leaving the roadway on its east side. The vehicle then entered the gravel shoulder and proceeded into a nearby ditch, where it rolled multiple times before coming to rest on its roof.

Tragically, the he was ejected during the crash and was pronounced deceased.
