Dubuque, IA – A Dubuque man was taken into custody on Friday evening following an alleged assault involving a dangerous weapon and a hit-and-run incident that resulted in injuries.

Authorities arrested Gary Joseph Nolan, 65, at 10597 Key West Dr on May 2, 2025, at 5:34 PM. Nolan faces charges of 2 counts of Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon aggravated misdemeanor and Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injury, classified as serious misdemeanor.

According to law enforcement reports, the incident involved an altercation in which a weapon was displayed, followed by a vehicle-related incident where the suspect allegedly fled the scene without providing assistance. Officer B.J. Berntgen was listed as the arresting officer.
