Dubuque, IA – Christopher Michael Duffy 37, was apprehended by authorities on Monday, April 21, 2025, following an incident at the intersection of 2 East 16th Street and Central Avenue.

According to the Dubuque Police Department report filed by Officer N.R. Goedken, Mr. Duffy faces a series of charges including attempted burglary in the third degree, burglary/breaking and entering (felony ), interference with official acts (resulting in no injury or damage), public intoxication (misdemeanor ), and possession of burglary tools (felony).

The incident reportedly occurred at approximately 6:32 p.m. Details regarding the attempted burglary and the subsequent breaking and entering are currently limited. The charge of interference with official acts suggests that Mr. Duffy allegedly obstructed law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties. The public intoxication charge indicates he was believed to be under the influence of alcohol in a public place. Furthermore, the charge of possessing burglary tools suggests that he was found to be in possession of items commonly used for illegal entry.

Mr. Duffy was taken into custody and is now awaiting further legal proceedings and being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
