Authorities responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash at the intersection of Mt. Ridge Road and Graham Road in Mt. Ida Township on Tuesday, April 4th. The incident occurred around 3:19 p.m., prompting a coordinated response from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Fennimore Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that Trisha Morris, a 32-year-old resident of rural Fennimore, had been operating a 2001 Ford Explorer northbound on Mt. Ridge Road. Investigators determined that Morris had approached the intersection at an unsafe speed, causing the vehicle to slide sideways, exit the roadway, and overturn in a field. Morris was located shortly after the crash walking along Graham Road, west of the accident site. Witnesses reported that she initially attempted to flee but later returned to the vicinity of her vehicle. Nearby residents had rushed to the scene upon hearing the crash and alleged that Morris made threatening remarks, though no firearm was found on her person or in the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed Morris was under the influence at the time of the crash. She was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) 1st Offense, an outstanding warrant from Crawford County, and cited for Operating Without a Valid License and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Morris sustained minor injuries and was transported to Grant Regional Health Center for treatment. Fennimore Police Department, Fennimore EMS, and Collision Specialists assisted with the investigation and cleanup.
