Grant County Wisconsin – On March 9, 2025, at 8:25 A.M., a Grant County Deputy encountered a vehicle parked on the shoulder of Highway 18 in Fennimore Township. The deputy activated the hazard lights and approached the vehicle.

Upon contact, the deputy observed two individuals sleeping in the truck. The driver, Dakota Paulson, 23, of Darlington, and a 17-year-old juvenile were present. Paulson informed the deputy that the vehicle had run out of fuel.

During the interaction, the deputy discovered alcohol containers in the truck. While speaking with the 17-year-old passenger, they disclosed that Paulson had provided them with alcohol, which Paulson confirmed.

As a result of this incident, Paulson was cited for providing alcohol to a minor and expired registration. The investigation is ongoing, and the juvenile has been released to their parents.
