Elizabeth, IL – A single-vehicle accident occurred Wednesday morning on US Route 20 East near the intersection of Fahrion Road, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries.

At approximately 10:57 AM, the Jo Daviess County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a vehicle accident with injuries. Deputies responded to the scene, located in rural Elizabeth, Illinois.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Darion Butler, 37, of Chicago, IL, was driving a 2016 Kia Optima eastbound on US Route 20 when he experienced a medical emergency and lost control of the vehicle.

Tierra Reed, 32, also of Chicago, IL, a passenger in the vehicle, attempted to regain control. However, the vehicle crossed the center line and entered the westbound traffic lane ditch, coming to rest in a nearby field. The vehicle did not roll.

Butler was transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
