A 19-year-old Platteville woman narrowly avoided serious injury Thursday after her truck rolled over on Southwest Road in Grant County. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash, which occurred approximately half a mile north of US Highway 151, where they discovered a 2013 Ram 1500 overturned on its driver’s side in a field.

The driver, identified as Margaret Metzen, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and became trapped following the rollover. Despite the severity of the crash, Metzen informed deputies she was uninjured. With the assistance of the Platteville Fire Department, she was safely extricated from the vehicle. Southwest Health paramedics evaluated her at the scene before transporting her to Southwest Health Hospital in Platteville for further assessment as a precautionary measure.

Authorities cited Metzen for Failure to Maintain Control of Vehicle, though the exact cause of the rollover remains under investigation. No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the incident.
