
On Thursday, January 30, 2025, approximately 8:00 AM, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of damage to multiple mailboxes on East Street in the Village of Potosi. The damage was determined to have occurred overnight. A deputy from the Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and identified the cause of the damage as a motor vehicle. The deputy recovered some damaged vehicle parts and was able to locate the vehicle involved, a tan-colored 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix.
During the investigation, the owner of the vehicle, Starla Thomas, a 45-year-old resident of Dickeyville, was located and subsequently cited for hit-and-run, failure to maintain control, and operating without insurance.
The Sheriff’s Office received assistance from Donnie’s Tire & Auto of Dickeyville in this matter.
