On January 20, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., deputies from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fight at Blue Jays Bar on Canal Street in Bloomington. During the investigation, Jeffrey Bartels, 59, of Bloomington was arrested and taken to the Grant County Jail, where he was charged with one count of Disorderly Conduct.

The other male involved, Dustin Hampton, 39, of Prairie Du Chien, initially received a citation for Disorderly Conduct related to the incident at the bar. However, Hampton’s troubles continued when he went to a nearby residence and caused a separate disturbance. Deputies responded to this second incident and arrested Hampton, who was also taken to the Grant County Jail and charged with one count of Disorderly Conduct.

It’s important to note that individuals arrested or referred for charges by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. An arrest merely indicates a probable cause for suspicion.
