On January 17, 2025, the Richland-Iowa-Grant (RIG) Drug Task Force executed a residential search warrant on West Madison Street in Platteville, Wisconsin. The search was conducted with the support of the Southwest Wisconsin Emergency Response Team and the Platteville Police Department.
During the search, D’angelo Ross (26) of Platteville and Alayna Sweet (19) of Platteville were apprehended and are currently detained at the Grant County Jail on Probation Violations charges.
The search warrant revealed substantial quantities of illicit substances, including cocaine, OxyContin pills, psilocybin mushrooms, a significant amount of marijuana, and marijuana products.
The search warrant was partially based on multiple neighborhood complaints concerning excessive traffic in and out of the residence. Investigators discovered that the property is situated within 1000 feet of a school and a park, which constitutes an additional violation of state statute. Furthermore, three juveniles were present in the residence during the search. Ross was currently on bond for multiple open criminal cases, and both Ross and Sweet were actively on probation.
In light of this investigation, the matter will be referred to the Grant County District Attorney’s Office, with the recommendation that Ross be charged with the following offenses:
– Possession with intent to deliver narcotics
– Possession with intent to deliver cocaine (over 40 grams).
**Possession with Intent to Deliver Psilocybin Mushrooms (> 100 to 500 grams)**
**Possession with Intent to Deliver THC (> 2,500.00-10,000 grams)**
**Three counts of Child Neglect**
**Maintenance of a Drug Trafficking House**
**Possession of Drug Paraphernalia**
**Distribution of a Controlled Substance near Certain Places (School & Park)**
**Delivery of THC less than 200 grams**
**Multiple counts of Felony Bail Jumping**
Additionally, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office is recommending that Sweet be charged with the following:
**Maintenance of a Drug House**
**Possession with Intent to Deliver THC (> 2,500-10,000)**
**Distribution of a Controlled Substance near Certain Places (School & Park)**
This operation underscores the Richland-Iowa-Grant Drug Task Force’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the community by addressing drug-related offenses and protecting vulnerable populations.
It is important to note that individuals arrested or referred for charges by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. An arrest merely indicates the existence of probable cause to bring formal charges. Due to Wisconsin Statute §950.04, the names of victims and witnesses to a crime have been withheld.
