The public is not at risk from this incident. As standard department protocol, the two officers involved in the shooting have been placed on critical incident leave. The Dubuque Police Department has requested that the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations conduct an investigation into the incident.
In response to a crime scene, Dubuque police units arrived at the 800 block of Alpine Street approximately at 12:21 PM. Crime scene tape has been deployed, and a substantial number of police officers are currently present at the scene. At this time, we cannot confirm whether a subject has been shot. Further information will be released as soon as we receive more details.
