On September 26, 2024, at around 7:02 P.M., deputies from the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash at 9738 U.S. Rt. 20 W, Galena, IL. Gregory D. Howes was driving a 2024 silver Hyundai Palisade eastbound on U.S. Rt. 20 near Jupiter Drive when his vehicle crossed the center line, went over the curb, and crashed into a residence12.
Gregory D. Howes was transported to Midwest Medical Center and then airlifted to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford for further treatment1. Two occupants of the home, Andreya D. Wilson and a male juvenile, were also taken to Midwest Medical Center by ambulance, while a third occupant, Logan Kviesis, self-transported to the same hospital12. The crash remains under investigation by the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
