Jo Daviess County – In the early hours of September 4, 2024, Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident at the intersection of N. Stagecoach Trail and E. Chestnut Street in Nora, IL. The accident occurred at approximately 01:54 AM.

Persons Involved:

• Mario J. Zelaya Chavarria, 40, of Elwood, IL
• Zilgehan Yahoska Vasquez Arroliga, 40, of Elwood, IL

Incident Details:

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that Mario J. Zelaya Chavarria was driving southbound on N. Stagecoach Trail at a high rate of speed when the vehicle lost control and rolled onto its side, eventually coming to rest on the train tracks. Both occupants, Mario J. Zelaya Chavarria and Zilgehan Yahoska Vasquez Arroliga, were transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
