Dubuque Police have arrested a man in connection with a gunfire incident during a large disturbance downtown last month. On Sunday morning, officers apprehended 22-year-old Dmarco Santiago after he attempted to flee and jumped a fence. During the search, officers discovered a 9mm handgun. Santiago faces multiple charges, including interference with official acts involving a firearm and reckless use of a firearm.

Santiago is accused of discharging the firearm into the air in the early hours of July 20th on the 1400 block of Central Avenue, where around a large group of people had gathered.

Police used traffic camera footage to identify Santiago as the individual who fired the gun.
