Narrative:
Prior to March 21, 2024, the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip reporting that two subjects, Murray D. Henricks, 26, and Tonay M. Hofman, 27, both of Clinton, Iowa, were renting a residence at 10A18 Hawk Court and that Henricks had warrants for his arrest.

After a short investigation, the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the occupants of the residence and learned that both subjects had outstanding warrants for their arrest.

On March 21, 2024, the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence in Apple Canyon Lake, Apple River, Illinois, taking three subjects into custody on outstanding warrants for their arrest. Henricks attempted to flee by going through a second-floor window out the back of the residence but was apprehended as soon as he exited the residence by the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit.

After serving the search warrant, a third subject was located inside the residence as well. That subject, Scott A. Gregory, 53, from Clinton, Iowa, also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Both Gregory and Hofman cooperated during the course of their arrest.

All outstanding warrants were not Jo Daviess County warrants. All subjects were transported to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office awaiting extradition. At this time, there are no local charges, but the investigation remains ongoing, and charges may be forthcoming.

This incident remains under investigation, and the Sheriff would like to remind the public that all subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
