Iowa Senate approved a new bill regarding illegal immigration, with Republicans voting 34 to 16 Democrats’ votes.

The bill criminalizes individuals attempting to enter Iowa after being deported or denied entry to the U.S. Anyone found in Iowa after being previously denied admission would be charged with an aggravated misdemeanor.

The bill has now been sent to the Iowa House Of Representatives.
