A man from Chicago Illinois, named Aaron Johnson has been given a life sentence for the murder of Lonnie Burns.

The crime took place in February 2023 and was the result of a planned robbery gone awry. Burns had contacted Tiarha Godwin for drugs and money in exchange for sexual favors, which led to Godwin and Johnson, along with others, going to Burns’ home. Upon arrival, a confrontation occurred, during which Johnson pulled out a gun and fatally shot Burns after a struggle.

Other individuals involved are also facing murder and robbery charges. Johnson was found guilty of first-degree murder and robbery in December by a jury and has been ordered to pay $150,000 in restitution.
