Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire at Taco John’s restaurant in Dubuque. The fire, which was reported at 9:14 p.m. on Tuesday, was quickly contained by firefighters to the rooftop HVAC unit. The cause of the fire was determined to be a malfunction of the unit, according to fire officials. As a result, the restaurant is expected to experience a delay in opening today.

At approximately 9:14 PM, the Dubuque fire and rescue team were called to Taco John’s on E. 20th St. due to a report of a structural fire. No injuries reported.

Witnesses on scene advised that they did see smoke coming from the roof of the Taco John’s restaurant.
No additional information has been released at this time.
