WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY EVENING THROUGHSATURDAY MORNING…

• WHAT…Heavy snow possible. Mixed precipitation also possible at times especially south of Interstate 80. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches and a glaze of ice accumulation possible. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph later Friday and Friday night, producing significant drifting and blowing snow. Also, rapidly falling temperatures may produce a flash freeze by Friday evening and add to the slick conditions.
• WHERE…Portions of north central, northwest and west central Illinois and east central, northeast and southeast Iowa.
• WHEN…From Thursday evening through Saturday morning.
• IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult and dangerous. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commute.
