Dubuque Iowa – The Iowa Highway Patrol report on. Saturday at 5:45 pm, a tragic accident occurred on the US 61 North, right at the border between Iowa and Wisconsin. Two vehicles were involved in the incident, resulting in the loss of one life.

The first vehicle involved was a 2021 Toyota KA4, which was traveling on the Dubuque, Wisconsin Bridge. Unfortunately, it collided with a wheelbarrow that had been left on the inside lane of US 61 North on the bridge. The impact of the collision caused the occupants of the Toyota to exit the vehicle to assess the damage. However, tragedy struck when a 2011 Kia Forte struck them.

The aftermath of the accident was devastating. One person lost their lives, while three others were injured. The injured were promptly transported to Dubuque Finley Hospital by Dubuque Ambulances, while one of the injured individuals required more urgent care and was airlifted to Iowa City University Hospital by AirCare Flight.

As of now, the Iowa Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the accident. They are working diligently to determine the cause and circumstances of this tragic incident. Due to the ongoing investigation, no names have been released to the public at this time.

This accident serves as a reminder of the importance of safe driving and vigilance on the roads.
