The Dubuque Community School District was asking voters to approve a $150-million bond referendum on the November 7th, 2023, election ballot. The bond would fund facility enhancements and create efficiencies in district operating expenditures. The bond would be used to:

  • Buy land and build a new middle school
  • Build a new gym for Eisenhower Elementary
  • Build a new baseball/softball complex

• Add air conditioning to schools

Tuesday’s night vote showed most voters approved of the bond with a vote of 7,240 59% in favor to 5, 042 41% no. The bond needs 60% to pass.
