On 10/15/23 at approximately 1:38 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to locate a missing Jo Daviess County juvenile. In the Township of Hazel Green, the juvenile’s vehicle was found in a field. Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, East Dubuque Police Department, Cuba City Police Department and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office worked together to try and locate the juvenile.

Due to dropping temperatures there was concern for the safety of the juvenile and a perimeter had been set up and K9 Vezer was utilized to track the location of the missing juvenile. After tracking almost a mile, the juvenile was located ahead of the K9 team’s location by a perimeter officer. The Cuba City Police Officer retrieved and carried the juvenile up an embankment to his squad for initial treatment for possible hypothermia.

Southwest Health EMS evaluated the juvenile and released him to his parents for further medical care.
