Grant County Wisconsin – A 1992 Freightliner silage truck driving westbound on HWY 18 in MT Ida Township was involved in an accident with Scott Sautter, 25, of Prairie Du Chien. A 2020 Hino straight truck was being driven westbound on HWY 18 by Nathan Dates, 33, of Milwaukee. A silage truck made a left turn into a field road. Nathan did not see the truck and tried to swerve at the last moment. Nathan struck the rear of the silage truck and was trapped in the truck and had to be extricated by the Fennimore Fire Department using the Jaws Of Life and was transported to the hospital by Fennimore EMS where he was later Med-Flighted for his injuries. Nathan’s truck had severe front end damage.

Scott was not injured and his vehicle sustained moderate rear end damage. Nathan will be cited for inattention driving.

Fennimore Fire and EMS, State Patrol, Grant County Highway Department, and B&M Towing assisted at the scene.
