Lancaster Wisconsin- On September 9th, 2023, at approximately 9:04 PM, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motorcycle crash with injuries near the intersection of Airport Rd and Henry Rd in the Township of South Lancaster. The incident involved Alyssa Miles, a 29-year-old individual from Platteville.

According to the report, Miles was traveling eastbound on Airport Rd at a high rate of speed when she lost control of the 2004 Honda VT750 motorcycle she was operating. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined. However, it is evident that Miles’ inability to maintain control led to the crash.

Miles was transported to UW Hospitals by a Med Flight for serious injuries.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident and gathering more information. 

As more details become available, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office will provide updates on the investigation.


ONE VEHICLE ROLLOVER CRASH

Cuba City Wisconsin- On September 10, 2023 at approximately 9:15 A.M., Heather Hinman, 18 , of Hazel Green, was driving her parents 2012 Chevy Cruze, south on Cth D in Smelser Township.

She was negotiating a curve on Cth D and drove into the opposite lane. Hinman over-corrected and drove into the west ditch, striking a field road, before entering a creek. The 2012 Chevy Cruze over-turned and came to rest on its roof in the creek. Hinman was able to crawl out of the vehicle and a passing motorist stopped to render aid and notify Sheriff’s Office of the crash. Units from the Cuba City Fire Department, Southwest Health EMS, and a Grant County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the scene.

Hinman was transported to the Southwest Health Center for possible injures sustained during the crash.

She was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash and no charges will be filed. Guy’s Towing of Kieler removed the vehicle from the creek, which was a total loss.
