Participants included Dubuque Fire Hazmat, STARS LLC, Newt Marine, Dubuque County Emergency Management, Jackson County Emergency Management, Artco Transportation, ADM, and Mulgrew Oil. A chemical release was simulated on water during the exercise. Participants planned and executed the containment and mitigation of a diesel fuel spill on the Mississippi River. Training like this coordinates and preparedness public entities and private industry partners to respond to an actual event.
