On Saturday, May 27, 2023, deputies were dispatched to the area of IL RT 78 S. and E. Loran Rd. In rural Stockton for personal injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Deputies arrived at the scene and learned that a motorcycle driven by Jonathan Peevey, of Stockton was traveling northbound on IL RT 78 S. when Peevey lost control of his motorcycle, caught gravel on the shoulder, and left the roadway. After leaving the roadway, the motorcycle overturned and landed on its side before resting. Stockton EMS transported both occupants to Freeport Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries. This accident remains under investigation.
