
On May 27, 2023 at approximately 5:08 pm, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motorcycle crash on Logan Rd with one injured.
Floyd Rarick, age 40 of Pine City, MN was southbound on Logan Rd on his 2005 Harley Davidson. Rarick approached a sharp east corner and could not negotiate the curve. Rarick put the motorcycle down on its side. Rarick was transported to Mercy hospital for his injuries. Rarick was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Hazel Green EMS and Hazel Green Police Department.
Motorcycle Crash With Injury
On May 28, 2023, at 3:24 PM, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call regarding a motorcycle crash on River Lane Rd near Park Rd (Army Corp of Eng. Campground).
The caller reported two injuries from the crash. The investigating deputy learned that Dennis Wolter, 59, of Janesville, WI. was riding his 2006 Harley-Davidson Road King with his wife, Brenda Wolter, 54, as a passenger. They were in a group, riding south on River Lane Rd, approaching Park Rd. A witness who was riding a motorcycle behind him, DuWayne Pepper, reported that a deer came out of the ditch on the right side of the road and that he believed that he may have clipped the deer. This caused him to lose control of the bike, eventually laying it down on the left side. The bike slid and then flipped to the right side. Both Dennis and Brenda remained on the bike.
Dennis and Brenda were both transported to a hospital in Dubuque, IA for injuries. Dennis’s injuries appeared to be more severe than Brenda’s. Neither were wearing helmets. Motorcycle Crash w/ Injury
