For First Time Scene 1973 All Flood Gates Are Closed In Dubuque
At 9:30 AM CDT Friday morning, the river stage was 24.1 feet (ca. 7 m). The gates were closed recently because of rising water and recent activity.
The river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.4 feet (7.44 m) tomorrow morning. This is the third-highest level on record before receding.
It will take some time before the river will be below food stage of 17 ft.
