Dubuque Fire & Rescue responded to 1838 Central Avenue for a report of a fire alarm.

Shortly after the first fire engine arrived on scene, they said that they had a fire in one of the apartments in the bedroom.

The fire was put out shortly after. Fire & Rescue did have to assist an elderly person out of the building.

Dubuque Fire units are still on the scene.
