Update on the Ronald Henry Missing Persons Case

March 6, 2023
On March 5, 2023, at approximately 3:21 pm, the
Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a property owner in Ellenboro Township that a body had been discovered in the woods near their property. A 14-year-old male had been walking in the woods looking for deer antlers and found a body in a ravine.
Grant County Detectives were sent to the location, processed the scene, and determined the body was that of Ronald Henry, who had gone missing on December 5, 2022. The Grant County Deputy Coroner was dispatched to the scene and removed the body. An autopsy will be conducted later this week to determine the cause of death.
Ronald’s location was approximately a mile south of the residence where he was last seen and was just outside the 2800-acre search conducted in January. It is a wooded area with no homes nearby. There are 3-4 different properties between where he was found and the residence where he was missing. A phone was located near Ron and will be analyzed.
The investigation remains open as detectives await autopsy results.
Throughout this investigation, the Sheriff’s Office continued to receive leads; however, most of them were based on theories with no context or evidence to substantiate them. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit still looked into many of them, speaking to people, checking additional areas in the county, and continuously working on trying to find Ronald.
Members of the Sheriff’s Office would like to express our deepest condolences to the family of Ronald Henry. We know they have been desperately seeking answers since December 5, 2022.
The Sheriff’s Office will provide further information once the autopsy is completed.
