Nationwide, over 600, 00 people have been reported missing with no particular age group in mind.

Fortunately, many of these people are found quickly and alive. Yet tens of thousands are still missing in what law enforcement calls cold cases.

Sadly over 4400 bodies have been recovered with over 1000 bodies not named after one year.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUS) assists law enforcement with technology, forensic services, and investigative support on behalf of the DOJ.

NamUs is a national information clearinghouse and resource center for missing, unidentified, and unclaimed person cases across the United States. Funded and administered by the National Institute of Justice and managed through a contract with RTI International, all NamUs resources are provided at no cost to law enforcement, medical examiners, coroners, allied forensic professionals, and family members of missing persons.
