Dubuque, Iowa District Judge Monica L Zrinyl Ackley sentenced Kaimel Anderson, 29, to 5 years in prison on a plea deal. Judge Ackley also gave Anderson credit for time served in the Dubuque County Jail.
In October, Anderson pointed a gun at Brianna Heffner, 22, of Dubuque.
Anderson had been convicted previously in California.
