Fallon Christina Murphy, 25, plead guilty to conspiracy to distributing a controlled substance, and Jose Soto-Guzman plead guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance near a protected area and felon in possession of a firearm arm in Federal Court for the District Of Northern Iowa .
In March and June 2022, he distributed heroin laced with Fentanyl. Guzman would travel to Lacrosse, Wisconsin, to purchase 4 grams of heroin and sale it to Murphy In Dubuque.
Sometime during the months Guzman was selling narcotics, investigating made 5 purchases from Guzman. On one of the buys, he to an undercover officer who was making a purchase that he had customers died from overdoses.
It was two days after the buy, in Dubuque, officers with a warrant searched the home of Guzman and Murphy and found a 9×19 mm pistol that belonged to Guzman.
In July Murphy made her own trip to Lacrosse and on her return officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle she was riding in. Murphy was taken to DLEC and officers found 19 grams of fentanyl inside her body.
Both defendants have been remained into custody of the US Marshals Service.
Murphy faces a maximum sentence of 20 years and 1,000,000 fine and supervised release for 3 years. Soto-Guzman faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 1 year imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of 60 years’ imprisonment, a $4,000,000 fine, and a term of supervised release of at least 6 years and up to life following any imprisonment.
