On November 9, 2022, at approximately 8:42am, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle on fire on Hwy 35/11 at the intersection of the Hwy 35 and Hwy 11 turnoff located in the Township of Jamestown.
Jeffery Lolwing, age 47 from Dubuque, was traveling eastbound on Hwy 11 in his 2004 Ford F150 when he noticed a large amount of smoke rolling out the back of his truck as he traveled. Lolwing stopped on Hwy 11 in the left turning lane for Badger Rd to inspect. Lolwing noticed flames from under the hood of his truck and attempted to put them out with a fire extinguisher he had in the truck, after calling 911. The truck became fully engulfed and was a total loss. Lolwing was not injured in the fire.

Assisting the Grant County Sheriffs was the Menominee-Dunleith Fire Department and the East Dubuque Fire Department, as Jamestown Fire was in Dickeyville at the time assisting with an active structure fire.

Guy’s Truck and Tractor removed the vehicle from the scene. Eastbound Hwy 11 was closed for approximately 45 minutes due to the fire.
