On October 20, 2022, at approximately 9-00 pm, Officers with Macomb Illinois Police Department were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 500 block of W. Pierce Street, Macomb, Illinois.

Upon arrival, officers located a male subject in the process of committing a burglary. The subject was taken into custody without incident with numerous stolen items. The Items were recovered on his person. officers then attempted to identify the individual, he continuously provided false names. At that point, the unidentified individual was transported to the McDonough County Jail and charged with burglary obstruction of identification, and possession of cannabis 30-100 grams.

While lodged at the McDonough County Jail, Officers were able to identify the suspect as being William
C Thomas, (Male/40) of Dubuque, Iowa. With the assistance of the Dubuque County (Iowa) Sheriff’s
Office, Officers compared a recent booking photo and positively identify Thomas. They also had two valid Dubuque County (Iowa) warrants for Parole Violation (No Bond) and Burglar (S15,000 cash Bond)

Thomas was jailed on his local charges, awaiting a bond hearing.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
