On September 9, 2022, members of the Richland Iowa Grant Drug Task Force completed a search at a residence on Lancaster Street in the City of Platteville.

The search yielded two firearms and a large amount of drugs. Curtis C. Scaife was arrested on a Probation hold and later charged with 2 counts of neglecting a child, 2 counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver other schedule I controlled substances, possession with intent to deliver THC, Possession with intent to deliver narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Platteville Police Department assisted on scene.
