On 8/3/22 at approximately 08:33hrs, The Jo Daviess County Sheriffs Office received a 911 report of a single vehicle accident with injury at the intersection of s. Derinda Rd. at E. Skene Rd.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies learned that a vehicle driven by Alex Steffen of Dubuque, IA., was traveling southbound on S. Derinda Rd. when he failed to negotiate the corner. Steffen then lost control of his vehicle and struck a driveway culvert, sending the vehicle airborne for approximately 50ft. Ultimately, coming to rest next to a tree.
Elizabeth Ambulance transported Steffen to Mercy One, Dubuque for non-life threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
