The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at approximately 9:08 p.m., Jo Daviess County
Dispatch received a 911 call reporting that someone shot an individual at a residence with some type of weapon. Someone reported that the suspect had fled the scene.

Jo Daviess County Deputies, assisted by the Galena Police Department and East Dubuque Police Department, responded to the residence and began an initial search.

Jo Daviess County Dispatch activated the Code Red system, alerting the public of the suspect’s description.

Upon arrival of both Jo Daviess County initiated a much broader search with their 2 K-9 units of the area. At 12:19 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022, Deputies took a suspect into custody.

Due to the severe nature of the offense and the fact that the investigation is still ongoing, not all details can be released at this time.
However, the Sheriff’s Office wants to assure the public that there is no ongoing threat from this incident. The case is under investigation and more information will
follow.
