A Jo Daviess Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop Sunday in East Dubuque, Illinois, on Sinsinawa Avenue near Montgomery Drive around 2:30 a.m.

Deputies made contact with the driver Casey A Knight, of Dubuque, and believed he was intoxicated and on drugs. The Deputies on scene developed a probable cause to arrest Knight for DUI / Drug combination.

During a search of the vehicle, they found 1.2 grams of suspected cocaine located on Knights’s person.

Knights charged with possession of a controlled substance, DUI/Drug combination, resisting a law officer. Failure to signal when required and expired driver’s license over one year.

The case remains under investigation.
