Paris Township, Grant County – April 26, 2025, 1306 hrs:
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a notification of a fire involving a semi tractor trailer on the southbound lane of USH 151, at Mile Marker 9 in Paris Township. Deputies responded promptly to the scene.

Upon arrival, officials determined that John L. Wubben, 73, of Cuba City was operating a 2020 Mack semi tractor pulling a John Deere Excavator on a flatbed trailer when the right rear tires on the trailer ignited. Wubben safely unhooked from the trailer while awaiting the arrival of firefighting resources.

The incident escalated as multiple agencies converged on the scene. The Dickeyville Fire Department, Dickeyville EMS, and Guy’s Truck and Tractor assisted the Grant County Sheriff’s Office in managing the situation. Wubben was not injured in the incident, and although the trailer sustained damage, he was able to drive it from the scene.
