Warren Joseph Meyer, 57, of 2633 Jackson St. in Dubuque, was arrested on July 28, 2026, at approximately 1:05 p.m. in the 800 block of Bluff Street (near 801 Bluff St.) on a warrant charging him with three counts of second-degree sexual abuse. The arresting officer was listed as Rosenthal, K.W., according to the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center daily bulletin reported by Dubuque In Pursuit News. He is being held in the Dubuque County Jail on $75,000 bond. 

Under Iowa Code § 709.3, sexual abuse in the second degree is a Class “B” felony. It applies in circumstances such as when the victim is a child (among other factors), and a conviction carries a maximum prison term of up to 25 years. An arrest is not a conviction; Meyer is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. 

Court documents state that earlier this year a woman reported to police that Meyer sexually abused her multiple times (on approximately 15 occasions) when she was between the ages of 8 and 10. A man also told police he was sexually assaulted by Meyer about 20 years ago. Meyer also allegedly provided alcohol to both children, according to the documents. 

Meyer entered his not guilty plea at a hearing last week. A trial date has been set for December 8.
