NORTH BUENA VISTA, Iowa — Starting Monday, April 6, 2026, at 7:00 AM, Clayton County Secondary Roads will close portions of Great River Road (N Buena Vista Rd) for bridge deck overlay work at two sites. The project will last approximately 2-3 months, with full closures to through traffic and posted detours.

Project Overview

•  Work Zone Length: 4.37 miles

Phase 1 (Site 2): Begins April 6. N Buena Vista Rd closes from Ridge Rd to Tollgate Ave (approx. 2.4 miles south of North Buena Vista). A posted detour will be in place.

Once Site 2 reopens, the contractor will move to Phase 2 (Site 1) in the City of North Buena Vista. The road will close from Hwy 52 to Tollgate Ave, with a new posted detour.

The sequential closures aim to minimize disruption while improving bridge decks for better safety, ride quality, and longevity along this scenic Mississippi River corridor.
