DUBUQUE COUNTY, IOWA – Motorists who frequently travel on North Cascade Road should prepare for delays starting next week as a water main installation project gets underway.
The City of Dubuque has announced that construction will begin on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 7:00 AM. The project will impact North Cascade Rd over a stretch of 1.61 miles, specifically from Edval Ln to the Bridge Overpass.
During this period, the road will remain open, but travel will be restricted to one lane. Traffic signals will be in place to manage the flow of vehicles through the work zone.
This traffic pattern is expected to remain in effect for approximately three to four weeks, though the timeline is dependent on weather conditions.
The work is being conducted by contractors for the City of Dubuque as part of a water main installation project.
Residents and commuters are advised to allow extra travel time or seek alternate routes if possible.
