
Dubuque County, Iowa — Drivers using O’Brien Road on Wednesday should expect delays as utility crews conduct work that will temporarily restrict traffic to a single lane.
According to Dubuque County officials, the project is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until approximately 2:00 p.m., weather permitting. The work zone covers a 1.42‑mile stretch of O’Brien Road, from Bernard Road to McCarthy Road.
Crews will be on site to move a power pole, a task that requires lane reductions and intermittent traffic control. The road will remain open throughout the project, but motorists should be prepared for one‑lane traffic, potential short waits, and workers and equipment near the roadway.
The county estimates the duration of the project at about five hours, though timing may shift depending on weather conditions and field needs.
