BOSCOBEL, Wis. — A routine traffic stop Thursday night resulted in the arrest of a Boscobel man on multiple felony charges, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 8:50 p.m. on March 20, 2026, a Grant County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 133 in the Township of Boscobel. During the stop, the deputy observed signs of impairment and initiated an impaired‑driving investigation.

Following that investigation, Brian Updike, 38, of Boscobel, was arrested and transported to the Grant County Jail. Updike faces charges of 8th Offense Operating While Under the Influence, Felony Bail Jumping, and Possession of THC – 2nd and Subsequent Offense.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the case remains under review.

Persons arrested or referred for charges by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. An arrest indicates only that probable cause exists to bring formal charges. Names of victims and witnesses have been withheld in accordance with Wisconsin Statute §950.04.
