JANUARY 28, 2026

The Dubuque community is invited to view the Dubuque Fire Department’s newest ladder truck during a public display on Monday, Feb. 2.
The new truck will be on display beginning at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Historic Federal Building, 350 W. 6th St. Fire department staff will be on hand to answer questions about the new truck and discuss its features and capabilities.
The viewing is being held in conjunction with the Feb. 2 meeting of the Dubuque City Council, which is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., but will be preceded by a work session beginning at 6 p.m.
The Dubuque Fire Department recently took delivery of its new ladder truck from Banner Fire Equipment. The 2025 E-One Cyclone truck’s ladder can reach up to 75 feet into the air and is equipped with a nozzle to be used for fire suppression. The truck can pump up to 2,000 gallons of water per minute to its various hose lines and the ladder nozzle. In addition to its fire suppression capabilities, it is also equipped for emergency medical response.
Compared to previous models, the new ladder truck weighs less and has improved maneuverability. The reduced weight cuts down on maintenance costs and fuel consumption. The newer vehicle will also take less time to repair than its predecessor.
The new ladder truck is expected to be placed into service in early February. It will be housed at Station 4, located at the intersection of N. Grandview Ave. and University Ave. It will serve as the primary responder for the central region of Dubuque, while providing supplemental response to the department’s five other fire stations.
